Poor HeeJun

One contestant on American Idol did not need to unpack their bags moving into the Hollywood Hills mansion with the rest of the top nine this week as elimination neared. The Idol dream came to an end for one male contestant tonight, with four males and four females left in the game. Competition was fierce this week but there still were a few performances that stood out… and not in the good way. Taking this into account, the right person went home this week, which is quite unfortunate to say since all of the contestants at this stage in the game are all incredible and worthy of winning.

To fill the hour long broadcast that could easily be cut in half… host, Ryan Seacrest updated the nation on the warm responses from Wednesday night’s performances. While a number of celebrity artists tweeted out praise to a small handful of contestants, Eric Benét surprised wildcard, DeAndre Brackensick in person to give a congratulatory hug. That was a very rewarding moment for Brackensick, quick as it was. Benét was seen in the audience in the latter half of the broadcast, so it seems he stayed around to give a proper hello as the stage hello was much too brief. Idol tricked us, making us think that this surprise was a last hoorah for Brackensick who is no stranger to the bottom three. But no, surprisingly, he was in the clear this week. As Jimmy Iovine pointed out, so long as America buys into him, he’ll be safe. He’s definitely not going to win American Idol, so how far will he actually make it?

As for the performances, Nicki Minaj graced the Idol stage with her presence to perform “Starships” and gave us more of a dance party, which you can either love or hate. Not singing the chorus until the end of your own song and having the microphone down and away from your mouth for much of the song… not impressive. We’ve all seen Minaj perform dozens of time on television before and she has definitely had better performances. But it was fun and if that’s all you’re looking for, this performance would suffice.

Season 10 Idol winner and platinum-selling country artist Scotty McCreery took the stage in the second half hour of the broadcast, performing his new hit, “Water Tower Town.” Love or hate the song, Scotty McCreery won because of that magnificent, oh so unique voice and was awarded a Platinum plaque because of it. People love him and all of that love and support has gotten him a plaque awarded by Jimmy Iovine on the behalf of Interscope Records just a year after winning Idol. What a year it has been for him. Bravo, McCreery! Well deserved. But it’s not his night. So, moving on…

Getting to the results… Phil Phillips, Hollie Cavanagh, and 28 year old Elise Testone were the first contestants to find out their fate last night. As predicted, Cavanagh found herself in the bottom three and miraculously, Testone was safe. What a dream. Hopefully she continues to find herself out of the bottom three as that is truly torturous. Either let her be safe or vote her out because seeing her in the bottom three each week is just wrong. We got a break from that this week and it had better be a long one. Also predicted to be a bottom three player this week, Heejun Han found a seat next to Cavanagh. Not predicted though was finding Skylar Laine in the bottom three. She was lucky this week but her fans really need to get behind her if they want to find her in the top five.

Coming to the end of their Idol journey this week was Heejun Han whose vocals and humor just didn’t cut it. While sad to see Han go, we all knew it was coming. The same moment will come soon for Brackensick as well. A solid final five would include Sanchez, Testone, Dixon, and Phillips. Rounding out the top five is anybody’s guess. Within the next few weeks, any combination of Laine, Cavanagh, and Ledet could see themselves out of the competition along with Brackensick or side by side with Sanchez and co. come finals. Then again, Testone doesn’t exactly have a warm, safe seat to sit on and Dixon may not be as safe as we think if we look at Twitter comments. It’s very difficult to predict but so far, America is doing a knock out job with votes.

With the final eight ready to battle it out for the final spots, who do you think will be sent home over the next three weeks?

Takde masa nak buat review sendiri. Sedih Heejun keluar sebab dia macam penyeri AI11 tahun nie. Ledet shud be voted out!! Happy coz Phillip, Colton n Hollie (walaupun dah  nyawa2 ikan cik adik ni)still in the game.  Good luck guys for this week's Top 8 Live Show.
